Day Six - 8 Great Smarts
“When we honor the way children are created…” — a cutting statement by Kathy Koch in an interview with Kirk Cameron on her book, 8 Great Smarts. Kathy also wrote the foreword in today’s book – “8 Great Smarts for Homeschoolers”. In the interview, she talks about how we can sometimes cut down our kids and disregard how they are smart, when in fact, God made them all unique; made to learn in different ways.
What We (the parents) Thought
Today’s book is a revelation for parents! It enlightens us about the 8 different ways kids learn, empowering us to understand these ways and help our kids thrive in school and in life. With insightful examples, it guides us in tailoring our homeschooling strategy to our child’s unique smarts. This book has truly transformed my perspective on my children’s learning abilities, helping me appreciate the diverse ways God has made them strong and different. I now see their strengths with a newfound sense of empowerment.
Summary
I highly recommend checking out this interview and the book 8 Great Smarts for Homeschoolers. It’s a great book if you are homeschooling, and still quite useful even if you are not. It’s also a short and easy read for those who aren’t “word smart”🙂. You can purchase 8 Great Smarts for Homeschoolers on our store at littlediscoveriescenter.com.
