Day Three - the Jesus Storybook Bible
Today, I’ll share with you a book that has become near and dear to our family’s heart—the Jesus Storybook Bible. It’s one of the few children’s Bibles that takes the stories of the Bible and brings them to life, spinning them on their heads to reveal the amazing message that Jesus has for every child in every single story. Talk about uncovering God’s treasure in unexpected pages!
As parents, we learned so much about Jesus and how much God loves us from reading the stories in this Bible to our kids. This one is as much for the little ones as they are for us. It’s on my top recommended list! During a sermon once, our pastor quoted this Bible’s version of Revelation because it highlighted the essence of the message. It’s that good!
Each story is tied back to the gospel and how every action and story (old and new testament) in the Bible leads us right back to Jesus. It’s a beautiful love letter.
What our kids thought
The drawing here is from one of my daughter’s favorite stories in the book—the birth of Jesus with Mary and Joseph.
The beautiful colors and words in this book are definitely geared toward a younger audience, but I would say this one is for all ages. Note: the stories are longer, so sometimes it’s harder for babies and toddlers to pay attention to the whole story. Children 5 years old and up will probably appreciate the stories more, though my young ones still loved them!
